Durante o evento Visum 2009, Denise Dresser expôs que a crise somente exacerba os problemas que já vimos arrastando há muitas décadas. Muita riqueza, poucos beneficiários, interesses entrincheirados e reformas diluídas resultam em um país letárgico, com pouca concorrência, baixa competitividade e crescimento estagnado. Para alcançar as mudanças estruturais no México, Dresser ressaltou que a Alta Direção tem a responsabilidade de envolver-se nas propostas e decisões das diferentes instituições.
