National and international executives from leading companies in their field were present at the event organized by Sintec: “VISUM Executive 2013”, which just turned 15 years bringing strategic growth and profitability perspectives, along with up-to-date business subjects, to the table.
Our guests were top executives from institutions such as: Aeroméxico & Delta, AHMSA, Bachoco, Campbells, Capistrano, Cial Alimentos, Coca-Cola Femsa, Comex, EGADE, Fábricas de Monterrey, Farmacias del Ahorro, Herdez del Fuerte, Jugos del Valle, Madisa, Nextel, Pemex, Praxair, SAP, Seguros Bancomer, Universidad de Monterrey, Viakable, Vitalmex, Walmart, Xignux, among others.
We recived more than 100 people for the presentations of our distinguished speakers: Emilio Lozoya, Managing Director of Pemex; José Antonio Fernández, CEO of FEMSA; Eduardo Solórzano, President of the Administrative Council of Walmart Mexico and Central America; and Fernando Espinosa, Sintec Partner Director.
The first conference was given by Emilio Lozoya, with the subject: “Pemex, the Oil Industry and the Energy Reform Legislation”. Lozoya stood in favor for the Energy Reform proposed by the Federal Executive, and reaffirmed that the Institution is not for sale nor is it being privatized, but it will continue to be a heritage for the Mexican population. Besides, he noted that Petroleos Mexicanos’ objective is focusing on the extraction of petroleum, which represents higher profitability margins, unlike natura gas, with lesser earnings. Pemex’s representative pointed out that they are not looking for middle men when it comes to oil exploitation; but actually, they require business partners from the private sector, in order to get the most out of all the available resources.
The next presentation was on the hands of José Antonio Fernández, whom presented: “Active Citizenship and the Private Initiative”, in which social topics were discussed from a corporative point of view. Femsa’s CEO emphasized the importance that companies represent to build a better country for their citizens, and the need of joining efforts to boost lagging social sectors. Fernández showed the audience several social projects led by Femsa, besides initiatives done by other enterprises, and efforts performed by associations that give scholarships to outstanding alumni that find themselves in financial need. To finalize, he urged the audience to take a more active role in their communities, leaving aside the apathy and getting more involved in social growth and improvement.
The third presentation was done by Fernando Espinosa, Sintec Partner Director, with: “From data to money: Cruising in the decision-making complexity”. During this conference, Espinosa commented on the constant increase in the difficulty that involves business administration, and the need to have the right tools to take advantage of the great dimensions of information that are received by companies on a daily basis. To achieve these objectives, a new tool was presented: BAO (Business Analytics & Optimization), being a technological enabler that optimizes decision-making, while based on advanced analysis made with mathematical forecasting methods. BAO guarantees processes much more efficient, besides being the right support for business models.
To close he event on a high note, Eduardo Solórzano gave the conference: “Change Adoption”, where the main problems for top management were discussed, which tend to become even more difficult as the business complexity increases. Solórzano argued that it is common when executives find themselves using archaic solutions that are not very efficient in solving contemporary problems, so he urged the audience to discover new ways that could bring better solutions to their companies, that are actually aligned with the current business scenario. Also, the executive pointed out that today’s business world need a faster decision-making process, in order to achieve a real impact on real time, with almost immediate answers.
The speakers received recognition awards sponsored by Talleres de los Ballesteros, as a way of thanking them for participating in the XV edition of VISUM Executive. Also, BMW and HSBC were a part of the event as sponsors.
At Sintec, we are proud to have of successfully presented again an exclusive event in which we received executives from leading companies to open the discussion for new business perspectives that work as a support for their profitable growth.
