Sintec provides content in the “Value Chain Transformation” event

Mexico City. On Wednesday, July 13, Sintec, a leading consulting company in client and operational strategy, participated in the Value Chain Transformation event organized by Oracle. Michael Schrage, Innovation Leader and Investigator at MIT, opened the event with the topic, “Optimization, Innovation, Decision and Networked Value Chains.” With models and simulations, he explained the importance of experimentation and innovation in organizations and highlighted the usefulness of processes that bring together technological capabilities and business. Schrage mentioned that it is essential to define metrics in order to create greater visibility, but they must be considered beyond improving processes; metrics must help make better decisions and be able to provide new value to the company.

Afterwards, Rubén Zamudio, a Sintec partner, emphasized in his conference the importance of having clear client and operational strategies to enable the business strategy. Each business must have a road map that shows how key processes evolve (go-to-market, sales and operations planning, and supply chain) and how information technology can enable them. Zamudio concluded saying that the first step for gaining benefits from information technology is to have a complete focus on the understanding of the needs of the business. This involves detailed participation by the entire management team. Very often, Sintec finds in projects that strategies and organizations are not aligned. The ability to align and change depends on the DNA of each company, and includes topics of culture, leadership, competencies, and structure. Regarding this, Zamudio presented several examples of projects where Sintec improved processes and results for their clients by designing and implementing organizational transformation strategies.

In attendance at this event were executives from the following companies: Alpura, Bimbo, Casa Pedro Domecq, Comercial Mexicana, Cruz Azul, Farmacias del Ahorro, Grupo Industrial Saltillo, Mabe, Malta Cleyton, Minsa, and Nestle.
