Last February 10, Sintec organized the S&OP Strategy – Competency for Stimulating Growth event, in which 40 leading company managers took part in Monterrey.

During the event, best practices regarding this topic were presented along with the case study of the Deacero success with the Sintec project—how the commercial and operational strategy was transformed and integrated successfully.

Rubén Zamudio of Sintec explained that the competency of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) has become strategic in business planning, and for achieving growth and profitability goals. He mentioned that commercial and supply directors together with IT directors have fundamental roles in the creation of this organizational competency, and to enable the strategy and process of S&OP, companies depend on collaboration between different areas, as well as technological tools.

Fernando Villanueva, Deacero Manager, presented the complexity of the Deacero supply chain and how, together with Sintec, they have faced the challenges of the past three years. The greatest challenge was the integration of the supply sector with the commercial sector, to optimally serve more than 10,000 clients. He emphasized that it was crucial to make clear the areas of opportunity in process modeling to facilitate the change and achieve results. He mentioned the support from Sintec and Oracle technology in the process of execution and collaboration that established better implementation methods.

The event brought together managers from companies such as Axtel, Bydsa, Casa Chapa, Cemex, Cydsa, Grupo Maseca, Christus Muguerza, Gonher, Mary Kay, Prolamsa, Whirlpool, Xignux, and others.
