During the session, Angel Hermida explained that Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is a process that encompasses all areas of the operation of a company, and that well-implemented, allows a more agile and more fluid functioning in the company, making it the vehicle for strategy execution. Regarding the benefits of S&OP, he commented that one can expect benefits in income, profitability, cash flow, and customer service, along with an important improvement in communication and coordination between areas. Lastly, he explained that a successful implementation of the S&OP process also requires a strong component of management of the change, and an alignment of measurement and compensation of personnel.
