During the Visum 2009 event, Denise Dresser explained that the financial crisis only exacerbated the problems that we have been dealing with for decades. Great wealth, few beneficiaries, entrenched interests, and diluted reforms result in a lethargic country with little competency little competition, and stunted growth. To achieve structural changes in Mexico, Dresser highlighted that upper management has the responsibility to become involved in the proposals and decisions of the different institutions.
